How To Find Yourself Again?
Remember, when you were young.
How to find yourself again?
When you were young you were blessed with so much goodness. You were so full of wonder, curiosity, and awe. You so easily laughed and smiled. You didn’t hide your feelings of pain and sadness. Your emotions were so vibrant and full. You were pure and innocent. You saw the good in others. When you saw the pain and hurt in others you cried and wanted with all your heart to help them. What a powerful experience.
Remember, we are constantly enticed by wrong motives.
We can lose pure motivation from our youth if we allow ourselves. We are enticed day and night to lose focus on what matters. The world mindlessly attempts to persuade us at every hour that there is no God, and it is only possessions, pleasures, popularity, and power that bring happiness. They don’t and they can’t. That is a self-absorbed focus. They may bring some pleasure or security for a while, but the long-term results are disastrous. They lead to destitution.
The world arrogantly tries to convince us that there is no God and there is no such thing as truth, right or wrong. To them, there is no purpose to life.
This is a recipe for complete disaster in your life.
We need to remember that God isn't on trial. We are. You and I are here to be tested and to learn and grow. Life isn't supposed to be easy. It doesn't matter if billions are wrong. We need to be strong.
Remember that believing is a choice. Believing is the greatest strength there is. It grows stronger and stronger because it is based on truth. It brings greater and greater joy.
1. Choose to Be True to God
How to find yourself again?
When we focus our best efforts on loving God and others, we discover our own true divine worth. We find the complete peace and joy that this experience brings.
2. Choose to Love Yourself
You do a tremendous disservice first to yourself and secondly to others who desperately need you - if you don't choose to love yourself.
The two great commandments are to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and mind, and to love thy neighbor as yourself. You can’t love others unless you love yourself.
One of the hardest things we can do is to identify and let go of false beliefs we have ourselves. Most of us believe in our hearts and minds that we can’t be who we yearn to be and who God wants to help us become. Many of us have felt that we are almost predestined to a life of failure or at best mediocrity. That is wrong.

Arrogance and pride are the opposite of the love of others and ourselves. Being other and purpose-driven is key.

How to find yourself again?
a. Define Who You Want to Become
Truly begin with the end in mind. Believe that you can play a major role in becoming the architect and builder of your happiness. Who do you really want to become? Listen to your deepest yearnings.
b. Determine What Your Most Noble Passions Are
One of the most important things you can do to make a real difference is to identify and focus on your noblest passions. You have an urge and need to find and live a life of meaning. Here are a couple of questions to help you get started:
- Where does your heart yearn to serve?
- What pains have you suffered that may help you to help others?
c. Uncover Your Talents and Turn Them into Strengths
Tom Rath wrote in StrengthFinder 2.0 that, "unfortunately, most of us have little sense of our talents and strengths, much less the ability to build our lives around them. Instead, guided by our parents, by our teachers, by our managers, and by psychology's fascination with pathology, we become experts in our weaknesses and spend our lives trying to repair these flaws while our strengths lie dormant and neglected.”
To turn talents into strengths, you must invest in them. To invest, you must practice using them and add knowledge and skills to them. Gallup defines strength as “the ability to consistently provide near-perfect performance in a specific area.”
